Fort Stanton, New Mexico

Welcome to the Fort Stanton Virtual Tour
Although the original fort buildings have dramatically changed over the years, the basic historic fabric of at least ten significant original structures remains substantially intact. Several important structures including the main hospital, two barracks, commissary, quartermaster, Sutler's Store, bakery and a few others have long since vanished from the site.

To view photographs, plans, and text descriptions and history of the buildings, click on the buildings in the map or chose from the index below the map. Please be patient as we add information for additional structures on an ongoing basis.
