Fort Stanton, New Mexico

Building F: Barracks
Built: 1855

Originally a 1-story flat roof stone building built in 1855.  Repaired in 1866 after the Civil War damage with extensions and modifications in 1883 and 1890.  In 1900, the roof was modified to gambrel shape and the Palladian window dormer was added. Now called the Administration Building due to its use in the Hospital and later years. The building is currently unused but Fort Stanton, Inc. hopes to convert it to a new museum and offices.
