Fort Stanton, New Mexico

Building B: Officers' Quarters
Built: 1883

The basic form of this building is still unchanged, but the drastic changes in windows, (partially boarded up, shortened and replaced), the Palladian window in the attic gable end and the east addition detract from its original sturdy, simple grace. It's original interior arrangement, double-halled, symmetrical, and reflecting the exterior form, is completely gone.

Use: 1883: Officers' Quarters
  1933: Doctors' Home
  1966: Hospital Client Rooms
  Present:

Front Elevation c1900.
