Fort Stanton SummEr Program 2008

Ft. Stanton Live will not be held this year—instead we have gotten permission to have 4 Saturday short programs. They will be held on Saturday July 19th, July 26th, August 2nd and August 9th.

The programs will be as follows:

• Saturday, July 19th, at 1pm there will be a walking tour of the entire Quad and a narration by Jack Carpenter for anyone wanting to participate. At 2pm Tad Vanderhye will give a talk on the Buffalo Soldiers. 
• Saturday, July 26th , at 1pm there will be a walking tour of the entire Quad and a narration by Jack Carpenter for anyone wanting to participate. At 2pm the Outriders will be at the Fort in and around the Museum and Stable area, dressed in period costume.  We are expecting a shoot out sometime in the afternoon near the stable area. 
• Saturday, August 2nd, at 1pm there will be a walking tour of the entire Quad and a narration by Sally Burkstaller for anyone wanting to participate. At 2pm Tad Vanderhye and Phil Screiber will be showing a collection of old guns down at the stable area in the little casita there. 
• Saturday, August 9th, there will be a walking tour of the entire Quad and a narration by Paul Giessinger for anyone wanting to participate. At 2pm the Sheriff’s Posse will be at the Museum and Stable area.  The Stable area will be open for tours all day, as will the Museum be open from 10am until 4pm.
